I specialize in intelligent educational non-fiction work. Taking a documentary news style to a project in order to weave together a cohesive narrative is how I approach most of my endeavors. When thinking about these projects my mind often jumps to sound first, as when you are capturing video for educational purposes if you are unable to clearly understand the speaker then there is no purpose in it.
My theory of equipment is that it should be unobtrusive and easy to use. Some of the equipment that I use to capture images and sound are:
- Nikon D7000
- Panasonic GH1
- Panasonic GF1
- Rode Videomic
- Zoom H1 Recorder
- Various Nikon prime lenses
- Various custom lavalier and binaural microphones
- Various grip equipment including Manfrotto light stand, Giottos backdrop stands, and lighting booms
- Various camera support systems including a custom slider and a number of tripods
